Policy Papers

AIAC advocates on aerospace policy issues that have a direct impact on aerospace jobs and aerospace companies  in Canada. By focusing government and public attention on important industry issues, we help to maintain and strengthen Canada’s position as an aerospace industry world leader.

We are currently focused on a set of issues that directly affect the competitiveness of Canada’s aerospace companies. These topics – and our recommendations – are outlined in the policy papers listed below.

Priority Issues Requiring Immediate Policy Development and Implementation by the Federal Government:  
This AIAC policy paper is a call to action on critical competitiveness issues facing Canadian aerospace companies.

Investment Support for Aerospace Technology Development & Commercialization:
This AIAC policy paper asks the Government of Canada to move quickly to establish a successor program for Technology Partnerships Canada (TPC).

Improving the Effectiveness of SR&ED Investment Tax Credits to Support Aerospace Technology Development & Commercialization:  
This AIAC policy paper calls on the Government of Canada to change its tax credit system for Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) investment.

Improving Defence & National Security Procurement: 
This AIAC policy paper encourages the Government of Canada to draw on the capabilities of Canadian firms to meet its defence and national security requirements.

Sales Financing for Aircraft and Other Aerospace Goods and Services:
This AIAC policy paper calls on the Government of Canada to establish a new Aircraft Sales Financing Framework.
