Aerospace Trade Mission to Georgia
The Canadian Consulate General in Atlanta is organizing a trade mission to the United States Air Force Logistics Center (Warner Robbins Air Force Base, Georgia) Seventh Annual Requirements Symposium on November 16-18, 2010. The Trade Commissioner responsible for the aerospace and defence industry and twenty three Canadian companies attended this event last year and found it to be an outstanding source of information on ongoing and upcoming programs for this Air Force center which has procurement budget of over $ 13 billion . The theme of the event last year was “partnering for creative solutions.”
The emphasis is on maintenance repair and overhaul for the following aircraft: A-10; C-5, C-17 C-130, F-15, F-22, U-2, Predator UAV, Reaper UAV, Global Hawk UAV and a variety of military helicopters. Additionally, there is an increased emphasis on both airborne and ground electronic systems as well as software used in the maintenance process and software used in avionics and electronic warfare.
This base is also the designated Air Force center for all avionics for the entire U.S. Air Force. Warner Robbins Air Force Base is located approximately a 2 ½ hour drive south of Atlanta, Georgia. Please make reservations for the Best Western/Bradbury in Perry, GA- Tel. 478-218-5200. This is the closest hotel to the event site.
There are approximately 123 members of an organization known as the Aerospace Industry Committee, which consists of prime and subcontractors serving in the Air Force. These firms are very interested in partnering with qualified Canadian companies and the Consulate will assist in the facilitation and introduction to these companies.
Additional information can be found on the following website:

Online registration usually opens one month prior to the event.
There is a nominal event organizer participation fee of approximately US$ 300 dollars to attend the event- which includes two breakfasts , two luncheons and networking reception.

Canada-Ukraine Technologyand Partnership Forum -Monday March 22, Montreal Queen Elizabeth Hotel and Thursday March 25, Toronto (Ontario Ministry of International Trade and Investment.)
Canada and Ukraine are both leaders in their respective specialities in aerospace. Ukraine in the designing and manufacturing of space launch vehicle and Canada in satellites, communications and remote sensing. Supporting the Ukrainian aerospace industry is a wide range of design and research institutions that made Ukraine the centre of excellence in the former Soviet Union in a wide range of sub-sectors including launch vehicles, aeronautics, advanced materials, physics, sensors and chemistry. Canadian companies on the other hand have a need to innovate and to adopt new leading edge technologies in order to maintain global competitiveness.
These Canada-Ukraine Aerospace Technology and Partnership Forums follow in the successful footsteps of therecent $254 million communications satellite deal between MDA and the National Space Agency of Ukraine and the Canada Ukraine Aerospace and Aviation Business Summit held in Kyiv in, 2009, where leading Ukrainian and Canadian aerospace organizations met to discuss opportunities for space collaboration, technology acquisition and research opportunities. There was significant interest from Canadian companies that could not attend andfor this reason these two “Technology and Partnership Forums” were organized to bringsome of the best of what Ukraine’s aerospace sector has to offer to Canada.
The Science and Technology Centre in Ukraine (www.stcu.int) is our main partner in this event. This is an intergovernmental organization created by the G-7 and funded by the EU, United States and Canada. Information on funding and research grants for partnering with Ukrainian organizations available from the STCU will also be presented at the Forums.
