Through a set of innovative and award-winning programs, Rolls-Royce Canada is giving Canadian college students, company employees and job hunters the technical aerospace skills needed to thrive in the global aerospace industry.
Since 1999, Rolls-Royce Canada has partnered with the National Aerotechnics School of Collège Édouard-Montpetit to offer college-level training in aircraft engine maintenance and turbine engine inspection. This hands-on training has helped students learn to inspect, repair, replace and assemble large aircraft engine components. Over the years, the company has also formed partnerships with other colleges and universities across Canada.
Rolls-Royce Canada also ensures that its own employees are up-to-date on the latest aerospace practices and technologies. Offering on average more than 12,000 hours of technical training each year to employees, Rolls-Royce Canada invests continuously in training for its technicians in order to expand their skill sets and let them benefit from the latest industry best practices and techniques.
Moreover, the company recently partnered with Emploi Québec and École Nationale d’Aérotechnique (ENA) to address the shortage of aerospace labour in its province, spearheading a program that offers technical aerospace training to workers with no previous technical experience.
For its efforts, Rolls-Royce Canada received the Mercuriade Award for Professional and Technical Training in 2008. To learn more about Rolls-Royce visit its AIAC Member Profile and the Rolls-Royce website.
